Pure Progesterone for
Men and Women |
Progesterone,
a hormone derived primarily from the ovaries in women
and from the adrenal
gland and the testes in men.
Karuna Natural
Progesterone Cream is a hypoallergenic formula free from
all synthetic fragrances, emulsifiers, emollients, fillers,
alcohol, and preservatives.
Benefits of Karuna Progesterone Pure:
- Progesterone Pure is a pure, hypoallergenic
formula free from all synthetic fragrances, emulsifiers,
emollients, fillers, alcohol and preservatives.
- Karuna Progesterone Pure
is free of alcohol, parabens and urea. Each 2 oz. tube
is standardized, quality-controlled and safety-sealed
to prevent oxidation and bacterial contamination.
- Each 2 oz. tube contains natural progesterone USP (30
mg per ¼ tsp.), which applies easily and absorbs
rapidly into the skin, leaving no sticky or oily residue.
- Each tube is accompanied by an educational brochure
that contains complete dosing instructions and other
valuable information.
Studies have shown that natural progesterone may provide
many benefits. These include protection against fibrocystic
breasts and breast cancer, protection against osteoporosis,
maintaining the sex drive and normalizing blood sugar
levels.
Research has also indicated the importance of progesterone
to the central nervous system (the brain and spinal chord) – finding
levels of progesterone to be 20 times higher in brain
cells than in the blood. Therefore it has been studied
in benefiting brain injuries and preventing migraine
headaches. Progesterone has long been studied for its
calming almost sedating effect. Proper levels have been
linked to sleeping well and maintaining a sense of calm.
Being a small, fat-soluble molecule, natural progesterone
is easily absorbed through the skin. For general application,
skin sites recommended include the inner areas of the
thighs and arms, neck, upper chest and abdomen. The site
should be rotated daily for maximum absorption. Allow
2-3 months for maximum effect.
Dr. Wong's suggested places of application
are:
"Personally, I recommend applying
the natural progesterone cream to the sites with
the largest number of progesterone receptors (ie:
the genitalia such as breasts and labia in women
and the testicles in men). And, for women
who have migraine headaches, especially those occurring
before or during the estrogen-rich menstrual cycle,
a dose can be applied to the forehead and this usually
relieves the headache in less than 30 minutes."

| Men |
Progesterone
may play a critical role in men’s health: opposing
the effects of naturally-produced and environmental
estrogens on tissues such as the prostate and contributing
to healthy endocrine system balance without feminizing
characteristics. A
precursor to testosterone and adrenal cortical hormone,
progesterone supports healthy bone density and may
be important in connection with BPH, prostatism and
prostate cancer.
Use of progesterone cream keeps testosterone
from converting into estrogen or DHT. This is especially
important in those men on testosterone replacement therapy
or who are doing any kind of testosterone building natural
therapies. |
| Women |
Progesterone is one of the two main female hormones
and is produced in the ovaries. In the female body, progesterone
is made from cholesterol and is essential for proper
uterine and breast development. It also plays a key role
in the stress response, maintaining sugar and electrolyte
balances and blood pressure regulation.
As women age and go through menopause, their production
of progesterone decreases, resulting in what many deem
a progesterone ‘deficiency’. This decrease
has been linked to the common side effects associated
with menopause; hot flashes, night sweats, and mood swings.
A decrease in progesterone has also been linked to a
woman’s loss of interest in sex, dry and wrinkly
skin, water retention and depression.
For fighting
menopause symptoms, estrogen dominance, depression,
migraines, PMS, and all of the women’s fibrosis
diseases (fibrocystic breast disease, endometriosis,
ovarian cysts, uterine fibroids). Progesterone, not
only, is the antagonist to estrogen but also acts as
an aromatase inhibitor protecting against having too
much estrogen made by the body. Pre-menopausal women
generally use one application a day between day 7 to
27 if they ovulate early or day 12 to 27 if they ovulate
late. Post menopausal gals can use one application
daily 25 days on and 5 days off. While most progesterone
creams contain soy, herbs and other possibly estrogenic
substances that could undo progesterone's effects the
Karuna brand is pure pharmaceutical (USP) grade progesterone
with minimal additives.
